In the beginning engineers and designers were only given one target on the development: They should set their own automobile fantasies free. The result is impressive: A super sports car whose technical base is motor sports. The SLS AMG fascinates with purist design, stringent light weight as well as superior performance. Technology from another planet
The 6,3 litre V8 AMG front engine of the SLS is the most powerful series induction eight cylinder engine of the world. The positioning behind the front axle allows for dry sump lubrication: As a result the oil sump below the engine was dismissed. Combined with the AMG Speedshift with race start function, unique performance is guaranteed and is just powerful and breathtaking. The superior performance characteristics are underlined by the aluminium frame and rear spoiler, which comes to live from 120 km/h onwards. The pressure on the rear axle at high speeds and surpassed corners at high speeds is further increased.
